We read the Megillah after the evening prayers. One should not eat or drink (from the fast of Esther) prior to the Megillah reading.
The Megillah is opened entirely, then folded in three, as if reading
a three page letter-scroll. This is to resemble the original Megillah,
which was sent to all the Jewish communities in the form of a letter-scroll.
